Two weeks ago I thought I’d put up a fun post just asking everyone to ask me any two questions they’d like in order to get to know me better. The response was pretty awesome and I had a lot of fun putting together the video for all of this.

I hope the video turns out well… It took a while to set up as I made some mistakes with it at first.

Either way, here is the video and the text to follow.

Here is the FULL video and I really hope this all turned out well and is in order and all. Below this is each video seperated.

Enjoy!

I’ve been working to get the video to show up on the site. It’s on my Vimeo account. If it doesn’t show up below simply watch the full video here: Answer To Your Questions.

Jean asked:

What social media site or website is your best referring source of traffic?

My best source of traffic is direct as well as a few blogs such as andbreak.com and some other I’ve not heard of until recently. Ultimately however, where I commend at and where I guest post are also great traffic grabbers.

What’s your typical blogging schedule look like?

My blogging schedule actually isn’t steady but I work hard each day to put in the hours necessary to get what needs to be done. With my 3 month old little girl it can be trying at times but I love her enough to be there for her 100% as well as put the hours into my blog here.

I’m most creative in the morning and jot ideas down so that I can get things done throughout the day if she’s sleeping or something like that. I normally get up around 8 to 10 and she’s already up so pen and paper are my “best friends” lol.

Thanks so much for those questions, Jean!

What got you getting started to build your blog?

Honestly, heartbreak.

I’ve already been a kind of person who wanted something different out of life than the regular 9 to 5 crap. It may be for some but just isn’t for me. I love my freedom too much and because my girlfriend and I were in fights and I ended up getting my heart broken, I turned to finding something of a hobby to get myself into and my mind off of how I was feeling. I found Yaro Starak’s blog and on from there discovered so many more great blogs and only continued to get deeper into this thing called blogging.

What are your methods of marketing for your blog?

Mainly Twitter, Facebook, commenting, guest posting, my mailing list, youtube and so fourth. I actually just recently got my mailing list up and am glad I did. Mine’s not like most out there however and there’s some goodies inside if you sign up.

I really just work hard at being me and getting myself out there to show what I’m all about and give all that I can. I also fully believe in over delivering whenever possible.

Thanks for those questions, Dev – Seriously!

What niche are you in?

I’m in the blogging niche or as you could put it, the helping other bloggers and people improve their blog using simple techniques. I know it’s a huge market and I’m not making money yet but it’s fun and I truly enjoy connecting with people and helping people solve problems.

What plugins you used in this blog?

Honestly, a lot. I’m not going to list all of them here but if you look at my site you will see some of the obvious plugins. For the COMPLETE list just watch the video. I actually read off every single plugin currently installed and activated on my blog.

Why do you use MailChimp and what are the benefits?

I really can’t compare anything to Aweber but I will say that MailChimp is awesome because it has all the main features I think you would need to create a good mailing list and it’s free. I go into more detail in the video and also would love to hear anyone’s opinion on either Aweber OR MailChimp.

Thank you for your questions Elisha!

Jillian asked:

Do you have a monetary goal in mind with what you’d like to earn online (and if so, what is it?)?

I do and it’s rather high but with this blog somewhere around $1,000 to $5,000 a month roughly some how. Over all, can’t say and it will have to be done with niche sites and more blogs. More detail in the video as always.

Who are some bloggers that you’d like to do a joint venture with?

I haven’t found anyone specific but I would like to find like-minded people who have the same goals I have and are ready to go into the same projects as I am and who I can really connect with on a more personal level than just my blog.

Thanks for your questions, Jillian!

Julius asked:

How do you particularly find new ideas to write about?

I mostly find ideas from just about anywhere. A lot of times from other blogger’s comments and blogs in general. Also from my daughter and the world around me. I pretty much have ideas come to me and I know I’d better write them down for later so that I stay ahead of the game.

Which stats do you pay the most attention to? (Alexa, Google, etc)

I don’t pay much attention to stats for the most part but I am more now and I use Google Analytics. I use that because I like it and I think it works well for the most part. I do look at both just not all the time.

Thanks for your questions, Julius!

Jeffrey Morgan asked:

What is your educational background?

I’m a High School Graduate from Southeast Polk. Go Rams! Hell, I still miss High School and would go back to school if I could which is probably a good sign I SHOULD look into college as there’s no time like the present.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Not in terms of wealth, but rather in terms of personal growth.

Not sure actually. That’s my short answer. Actually I see myself having some assets and family taken care of and being out of debt. I also see myself setting some more personal goals and getting passed some fears I have such as driving in new and unfamiliar areas.

Lastly, careers wise, I see myself running multiple blogs and niche websites and making a great living online.

What pets do you have in your household?

I currently have NO pets in my household however my favorite animals are dogs. I love cats AND dogs but my favorite are dogs.

The animals I have/had in my life have been/are Lady (dog), Shadow (dog), Rex (dog), Benji (dog), Blue (cat), Koo (cat), Lenny AKA Lenny-Poo (dog).

Thanks so much for your questions, Jeffrey!

Pete asked:

Do you have any major time and resource drains like a day job?

I DO have a daughter which makes it very difficult at times to get things done as I’m right now getting all of this finished and currently getting the video formatted and all and it’s 12:22 AM Friday (the day it’s going up). It’s late for me believe it or not but I’m doing this because I gave my word and this blog and the community is important to me.

My girlfriend is working full time and I’m a stay-at-home dad and “full-time” blogger working my ass off to build this blog up to make sure it makes great value to people and eventually brings in money.

What is your favorite resource for tips on how to make your blog look good.

I honestly don’t have many tips for you on this one but I will recommend a few ideas here. One being that I would talk to TravisAMorgan about a logo/design and such as he did The InfoPreneurs logo. I also recommend Heather from ShadesOfADream.com/blog as she knows 3D art very well.

Other than that I just recommend playing around with Thesis as it’s a killer blog theme and has a lot of powerful potential in my opinion.

I’ll get you a link to a service I used a while back and was pretty happy with. They set up the entire blog for just a dollar and I really like what they had to offer. As the video says, even now, I’m trying my best to get all things set up here and get this post up on time for later today so I’ll get you the link sometime around this weekend.

Thank you very much for your questions, Pete!

Steve Youngs asked:

Who are your three favourite authors (not necessarily, but preferably. of fiction)?

I don’t necessarily have three favorite authors but if you read Wednesday’s post you will know who my all-time favorite author is. Larry Winget. I also really enjoyed Gary’s Crush It even though I don’t have a copy of my own.

I read quite a bit but a lot of what I read is blogs and I really do need to read more books.

You have a time machine that can take you anywhere and any when. What are your first three destinations?

1st. Back to when I was 13 years of age because my grandmother was still alive and I miss her greatly. We had a fantastic relationship and she was the best person I ever knew. She was also a huge inspiration in my life.

2nd. When I turn 25 years of age I’d like to see my buddy Pal who lives in the Netherlands. We’ve been great friends now JUST online for about 11 years and I’ve never met him. We talk all the time and I’ve also never been out of the USA so I think It’d be great fun to venture out and meet him and see what his world is like.

3rd. I would absolutely love to see what the year 3000 brings. See what the world has become and how technology has progressed. Who wouldn’t? And I highly doubt I’m going to live long enough to see that year so that would definitely be a place I’d go.

Thanks for the amazing questions there Steve!

What’s your ultimate goal for this blogging adventure you’re on?

My ultimate goal for this blog is really to connect with people and build up a strong community and help solve problems and create great business that delivers excellent performance and quality.

How many hours a day or a week do you devote to the whole shebang — writing, marketing, networking, making videoes, etc.

Quite a bit of time actually, Abby. About five hours each day doing all of it and sometimes more.

Some random person on YouTube asked:

What is your favorite food?

Pizza.

Why doesn’t my girlfriend love me?

No clue.

If you’d like to get more involved with this blog sign up for Pop News and get FREE access to the Monthly Experience Enhanced.

OK, first of all this is all Gabe’s falt over at Free Blog Help.com. Why? Because he’s the one who gave me this crazy idea with one of his past blog posts and it’s been so fun to do and now I’m asking for you to help out and get completely involved.

How?

This month and from here on out is going to be a little different. Here’s how.

The Monthly Experience will remain the same with all of our top 10 favorite blogs and an explination as to why we picked those out of all the tens of thousands out there in the blogosphere.

However, there’s now going to be a bonus #11 top blog each month as well as 19 more! That’s right. 30 top blogs total.

What do you have to do to get involved in this? Not much. Simply sign up for Pop News and you’ll receive a password to the Enhanced Section of the Monthly Experience and that’s where you’ll find the bonus AND the 19 blogs more to discover.

Be sure to send in your list all ready to go, linked up and everything, to ME at BluePop13.com. In case you didn’t know the me stands for monthly experience. Cleavor right? I thought so.

Ok, now to my top 10 favorite monthly blogs and why:

1. http://www.thechangeblog.com/face-your-fears/
-Cath makes a great point here about fear and how it can be used to find your passion in life. If you’re afraid to the point of stupidity then it’s probably not good for you. If, however, you’re afraid and excited because you’re experiencing something unfamiliar and you want to go a bit further but are a bit scared, this is probably helping open a new door into your life and allowing you to see what’s on the other side, and possibly even your passion.

Definitely check out this blog post… It’s completely worth it!

2. http://www.freepursuits.com/master-the-art-of-illusion
-This is a guest post by Carl Nelson from dropofchange.com and this post caught my eye because it makes you think about what reality even really is. It’s not all the same for each of us. Sure there are truths out there but what might work for one person might not for another. At the same time, what one person might see as easy someone else could have a real hard time with. We’re in our different zones in life which are our comfort zone, learning zone, and panic zone, as he puts it and each zone does something to us.

3. http://frombottomup.com/kim-maglinti-blogger-and-creator-of-mindset-success-coaching-interview/
-Hulbert interviews Kim Maglinti of mindsetsuccesscoaching.org and she brings up quite a few points that really struck me. One point she made was that you have to have a strong enough why in order to reach your goals. I also like how she manages the way she accomplishes her daily goals using her train analogy… Listen to the interview for more on that. She also talks about how she’s open to experiences that life gives you and looks at everything as a learning experience which is something we should all strive to do.

Great first interview here!

4. http://www.fuelyourblogging.com/managing-a-blog-is-great-managing-the-blogger-is-even-better/
-Brandon makes an incredible point here that I feel a lot of bloggers miss. Not because it’s something people don’t do but because it’s overlooked and is extremely important. You’re managing your blog but now it’s time to make sure you’re managing yourself in order to make sure your life is running smoothly. After all, you want to continue living so that you can keep doing things that interest you such as blogging, right?

5. http://hilife2b.com/blog/top-50-tweets-from-50-personal-development-all-stars
-John has a great list of 50 personal development tweets from people who are taking great action and sharing what they know to others who appreciate what they have to share. I like a few that I’ve read here… Henri Junttila from the Wake Up Cloud quoted Petryl Hsieh, “Action will remove the doubt that theory cannot solve.” I also like, “Do you want to increase your chances of success? Then master time” – by @Lionslinger.

My favorite quote however is, “Don’t give too much attention to what happens to you, but rather to what you can make happen.” by Dragos Roua. Check it out for the rest of them!

6. http://hilife2b.com/blog/dos-donts-selfstarter
-John writes another amazing post about how to be a self starter. Want to be more happy in life? Want to have more fun? Want to be different while still being the true you? Would you like to discover who you REALLY are? Want to take action and have more success than you imagine possible? Great. Check out this post and follow it and see what happens.

7. http://bloggersmarket.com/blogging-quotes-to-live-by/
-Jeffrey put together a nice blogging quotes to live by and it’s actually a section dedicated to me. I add it because you can find a lot of inspiring quotes here that I think will benefit a lot of people. Check it out and leave a comment or two!

8. http://potential2success.com/Keep-Promises-to-Yourself.html
-Ralph talks about how to keep promises to yourself. It’s important to mean something when you say it and then actually do it and get it done. We sometimes don’t think it’s all that important to keep a promise to ourselves and just let things slide by. And maybe things aren’t too bad when that happens. However, things could be much easier and life could get so much better just by staying on track and believing and doing what you said you would do (even if it’s just to yourself).

This is a simple post and definitely worth a read. Check it out!

9. http://foreverthenet.com/how-do-you-treat-your-readers/
-Ronald makes a great point here to all bloggers about the simple fact that bloggers are what make blogs work. You need to absolutely treat your readers like gold and do everything you can to keep them coming back to your blog. Read the article because it’s a great article and makes a good point.

10. http://alexwhalley.com/focus/howtobeatinformationoverload/
-Alex talks about something that so many people can benefit from having a stragety to help avoid: information overload. Information is everywhere out there thanks to the Internet. However, too much information is not good and can cause us to completely give up on ourselves. The problem I see is that far too many sites talk about what they do to avoid it but Alex actually shows you what his schedule looks like as an example of what he literally does. It’s not for everyone but I certainly hope you can get some value out of this and get yourself back on track with accomplishing your daily tasks in order to reach your goals.

11.
David Risley wrote an article about figuring out exactly why you blog. More people need to read this because I feel it’s important to know why you’re doing this. You don’t have to be blogging about blogging but knowing why you blog at all is important especially if you’re working to turn your blog into a real business. A must read!

Keith shares why he’s fed up so many people out there in the blogosphere saying there’s a certain way of doing things. I agree. Figure out what works for you and stick with it. Definitely share how you do it but don’t go at it as if YOUR way is the ONLY way to do it. There’s many hows (just like getting rich) so be respectful and keep working hard to help each other without offending people with your ways.

Great job there Keith!

Nick talks about the fact that as bloggers, we expect too much too soon and need to slow down a bit and understand that our work needs to be good and figure out when and how to put in the right efforts to build something of great value.

This one isn’t easy for me. James has been a great inspiration to us all out there and has worked harder than anyone I know. He’s built up a great site that has helped so many people see a new light and has created a family with his blog. He’s leaving the blogosphere to take care of his health and I respect that. It’s hard to let him go and I pray for him and his entire family that things get better and he has a full recovery. You can see the amount of people who have been following him and love the site as much as he does on his latest and last post right here.

Henry talks about how to be more productive and get things done. He does a great job here going into detail about how to keep things together and not get too off course. Things happen to us all and we all have things that need to get done. This is a must read for anyone who is strugling with that.

Yaro accepted a guest post from Jonathan Beebe who writes about once you find out what works for you, stick with it! He’s supporting his family of four with what he does online.
I started this little project of helping spread each other’s websites around by seeing who all visited what websites throughout each month. My intention was to have everyone build up a top ten monthly list of blogs/websites they enjoyed and why.

This month I’ve admittedly gotten a bit behind of my end of things and will say that I don’t actually have a list of my own. I visit many blogs throughout the month but didn’t put together a top ten list.

You can visit the first two months posts below and I encourage you to send in your top ten list of blogs you enjoy reading and why and help get this back up and see what becomes of it.

I started this in January with the intention of everyone helping everyone by sharing their top 10 favorite blogs and why. A very simple concept that I believe will go far and we can all recognize a bit more about each other as well as discover new people all at the same time. What is this all about and what do you have to do to join exactly? I’m glad you asked! All you have to do is send me your top 10 favorite blogs and what you like about each one by the 25th of each month. I will then post your name and your blog including your top 10 favorite blogs and we will hopefully build a fast growing community of people from all walks of life engaging in this activity to support and help each other. And yes I will of course include my own list every month as well. If you’re not on my list one month don’t feel bad. This is a top 10 list each month for a reason and the list from everyone will probably change as months go by. This is just something fun… Nothing to be taken hard feelings to. Here it is… Enjoy!

Eric’s List

I’m doing things just a bit different this time and not including the reason why I like these blogs because a lot of these are the same as before and because with the move (still getting things unpacked and more comfortable, I know, excuses hehe) I haven’t had a whole lot of time to get much done as I’d like to. We have a wonderful baby girl with us now who we’re very proud of and having lots of fun taking care of and I’m job hunting also. That being said, this is my list and I encourage you to email me eric (at) bluepop13 (dot) com if you would like to get in on the fun! Thanks and enjoy the list.

I want to know what your top 10 favorite blogs to visit are. This can be anything, seriously. Doesn’t have to be about Social Media, Blogging, Computer, Technology. It can be about fishing, biking, religion, anything. I hope you get the point. If you like it, share it. I’ll just leave it at that.

At the end of each month I’m going to be sharing my top 10 favorite blogs I visit most on a daily basis and the reason why. What have those blogs done for you? How have they added value to your life? This isn’t hard in fact this is a pretty fun experience as everyone will get to be a star here.

Send by the 25th of each month what your top 10 favorite blogs are and why you chose each one of those. I’ll post who you are as well as your blog and your top 10 favorite blogs and the reasons why you like them. This way, we will have one very long article of people (hopefully) who all share different blogs they enjoy reading.

Why You Should Participate

Your blog gets noticed more. The blogs you mention get noticed more. Everyone shares what they think of what blogs each person liked and why.

This could be huge so if you want in just send me your list by the 25th of each month.

See, as Gabe said, you can ALWAYS find something to talk about.

So… What do you think? Are you in?
