Two weeks ago I thought I’d put up a fun post just asking everyone to ask me any two questions they’d like in order to get to know me better. The response was pretty awesome and I had a lot of fun putting together the video for all of this.

I hope the video turns out well… It took a while to set up as I made some mistakes with it at first.

What social media site or website is your best referring source of traffic?

My best source of traffic is direct as well as a few blogs such as andbreak.com and some other I’ve not heard of until recently. Ultimately however, where I commend at and where I guest post are also great traffic grabbers.

What’s your typical blogging schedule look like?

My blogging schedule actually isn’t steady but I work hard each day to put in the hours necessary to get what needs to be done. With my 3 month old little girl it can be trying at times but I love her enough to be there for her 100% as well as put the hours into my blog here.

I’m most creative in the morning and jot ideas down so that I can get things done throughout the day if she’s sleeping or something like that. I normally get up around 8 to 10 and she’s already up so pen and paper are my “best friends” lol.

Honestly, heartbreak.

I’ve already been a kind of person who wanted something different out of life than the regular 9 to 5 crap. It may be for some but just isn’t for me. I love my freedom too much and because my girlfriend and I were in fights and I ended up getting my heart broken, I turned to finding something of a hobby to get myself into and my mind off of how I was feeling. I found Yaro Starak’s blog and on from there discovered so many more great blogs and only continued to get deeper into this thing called blogging.

What are your methods of marketing for your blog?

Mainly Twitter, Facebook, commenting, guest posting, my mailing list, youtube and so fourth. I actually just recently got my mailing list up and am glad I did. Mine’s not like most out there however and there’s some goodies inside if you sign up.

I really just work hard at being me and getting myself out there to show what I’m all about and give all that I can. I also fully believe in over delivering whenever possible.

Honestly, a lot. I’m not going to list all of them here but if you look at my site you will see some of the obvious plugins. For the COMPLETE list just watch the video. I actually read off every single plugin currently installed and activated on my blog.

Why do you use MailChimp and what are the benefits?

I really can’t compare anything to Aweber but I will say that MailChimp is awesome because it has all the main features I think you would need to create a good mailing list and it’s free. I go into more detail in the video and also would love to hear anyone’s opinion on either Aweber OR MailChimp.

I do and it’s rather high but with this blog somewhere around $1,000 to $5,000 a month roughly some how. Over all, can’t say and it will have to be done with niche sites and more blogs. More detail in the video as always.

I haven’t found anyone specific but I would like to find like-minded people who have the same goals I have and are ready to go into the same projects as I am and who I can really connect with on a more personal level than just my blog.

I mostly find ideas from just about anywhere. A lot of times from other blogger’s comments and blogs in general. Also from my daughter and the world around me. I pretty much have ideas come to me and I know I’d better write them down for later so that I stay ahead of the game.

Which stats do you pay the most attention to? (Alexa, Google, etc)

I don’t pay much attention to stats for the most part but I am more now and I use Google Analytics. I use that because I like it and I think it works well for the most part. I do look at both just not all the time.

What pets do you have in your household?

I currently have NO pets in my household however my favorite animals are dogs. I love cats AND dogs but my favorite are dogs.

I DO have a daughter which makes it very difficult at times to get things done as I’m right now getting all of this finished and currently getting the video formatted and all and it’s 12:22 AM Friday (the day it’s going up). It’s late for me believe it or not but I’m doing this because I gave my word and this blog and the community is important to me.

My girlfriend is working full time and I’m a stay-at-home dad and “full-time” blogger working my ass off to build this blog up to make sure it makes great value to people and eventually brings in money.

What is your favorite resource for tips on how to make your blog look good.

I honestly don’t have many tips for you on this one but I will recommend a few ideas here. One being that I would talk to TravisAMorgan about a logo/design and such as he did The InfoPreneurs logo. I also recommend Heather from ShadesOfADream.com/blog as she knows 3D art very well.

Other than that I just recommend playing around with Thesis as it’s a killer blog theme and has a lot of powerful potential in my opinion.

I’ll get you a link to a service I used a while back and was pretty happy with. They set up the entire blog for just a dollar and I really like what they had to offer. As the video says, even now, I’m trying my best to get all things set up here and get this post up on time for later today so I’ll get you the link sometime around this weekend.

I don’t necessarily have three favorite authors but if you read Wednesday’s post you will know who my all-time favorite author is. Larry Winget. I also really enjoyed Gary’s Crush It even though I don’t have a copy of my own.

You have a time machine that can take you anywhere and any when. What are your first three destinations?

1st. Back to when I was 13 years of age because my grandmother was still alive and I miss her greatly. We had a fantastic relationship and she was the best person I ever knew. She was also a huge inspiration in my life.

2nd. When I turn 25 years of age I’d like to see my buddy Pal who lives in the Netherlands. We’ve been great friends now JUST online for about 11 years and I’ve never met him. We talk all the time and I’ve also never been out of the USA so I think It’d be great fun to venture out and meet him and see what his world is like.

3rd. I would absolutely love to see what the year 3000 brings. See what the world has become and how technology has progressed. Who wouldn’t? And I highly doubt I’m going to live long enough to see that year so that would definitely be a place I’d go.

I’ve mentioned a few times around the blogosphere about Larry Winget being my favorite author and why I enjoy reading his books. Today you’re going to get a person review by me AND by him… Kinda!

This makes me think I should contact him about doing an interview or something but if anything that’s to come another time.

So here are some questions and some answers for you.

Those are all the books I currently own by him in the order I bought them. Yes I own all of them and have read all of them at least once, obviously. In fact, I just finished reading Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get A Life for the 4^th time. Excellent read and I recommend it without a doubt.

When was I first introduced to him?

I was at the mall with my girlfriend and my best friend and his girlfriend in a book store in the personal development and finance section. I’m interested in those topics very much. I saw his book, You’re Broke Because You Want To Be and it pissed me off greatly. I thought to myself, “The HELL I am!” Only after reading the back of it and the first chapter of it that I WAS broke because I wanted to be.

Damn! That sucks! This guy is good and I’m buying his book. Period.

I did and have been a fan ever since.

I was also having a hard time in my relationship and it only got worse and his books really shook me up and woke me up a bit. He believes that life is your own damn fault and that you completely created both the good and the bad.

When bad shit happens, well, that’s life. It’s how you deal with it that makes you who you are and takes you to the next level of things. You have to make a change and take action. You have to have a plan and do something. Ultimately you can’t improve yourself and your life if you feel good about yourself. That’s the truth.

I wrote months ago about myself achieving success getting my car out of the snow. That was a lot of work and I was damned if I was going to give up. Well, I got it out, thank God!

I was reminded of this success story I wrote and shared with everyone and I feel it was the best blog post I’ve ever written, ever. I bring this up because I personally don’t think I’ve read a greater blog post about success than experience everlasting success.

I read it and it’s fantastic beyond words in my opinion.

Why do I share this with you today?

Recently

For a week or so now I’ve been extremely busy but not in the way you’re probably imagining. I’ve been taking on little things and putting off other things and now I see things a bit differently than before.

I recently started my mailing list after writing up my Killer Content Guide and just started sending out emails and messages to people about writing for this blog whenever they want to on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far, you can read quite a few Pop Posts I’ve put up and the first one I asked about that I got a response back from was why consider persons with disabilities when making your blog by Tom from Even Grounds.com.

Great article if I do say so myself.

I also got Henri’s book passionate living (affiliate link) and took action by putting it on my blog to support his work which I fully believe in. If you’re new to his writing and you like what you’ve read here at all I feel you’ll love his blog.

Back To Business

I’ve felt lazy for last several weeks and as I said above I’ve been busy but not in the ways you would think. I DID get my first two big projects started which I’m going to be selling on here once completed. I’ll be releasing the first one (no name yet, sorry) in a few months after completion and if you’re on my mailing list you’ll be one of the first people to know about it being released.

After reading Keith’s back to the basics post it really got me thinking about coming up with some ideas for this blog and making it even more helpful to everyone.

I have so much more coming your way that I’m sure a lot of people will truly benefit from. If they don’t it’ll surprise me.

What success are you looking at for the future and what are you doing about getting there?

I love my family. I have a rather small family but they’re the best. Right now I’m a stay-at-home dad working on blogging my way to an income and do some other projects as well. In the video below my girlfriend, Samantha, introduces herself and you’ll see a our daughter as well.

Last Wednesday I put up a blog post called changes are coming, pop post anyone? This week I haven’t got those pop posts up as I’m still getting it all organized and ready to go. Next week I should have some so we’ll see how that comes along.

I received a comment by Darren L Carter on that post saying that he liked how I call my guest posts pop posts because it gives it style in my case and I appreciate when people see that. I visited his site since he was nice enough to visit mine and leave a comment and I watched the video on his site.

In his video he talks about your dreams and having an idea of what kind of life you want to live and how you’re going to get there. I like that because everyone should have huge dreams but should also know how they’re going to achieve those dreams. If you don’t, get some.

There’s no time like the present and honestly I love that people follow their dreams and build up great sites all around that idea. I also like how he talks about the fact that he’s living a pretty awesome life style right now himself.

I currently am blogging mostly full time right now but not earning an income from it yet. That’s my dream. Provide great value to people and be able to live off the income I’ll make with my blog so that I can support my family and have the freedom to do more of what I desire in my life and each out to more people.

All that being said, what’s your deams and what’s your plans on achieving those dreams?

I’m right in the middle of writing my article for The InfoPreneur.net right now and while reading a few blogs and coming across David Risley’s story of one of his failures I thought I would add something that might help some of you out.

First off let me just say that becoming a real pro blogger and taking care of a baby and still looking for a job isn’t all that easy, or hard to do.

It’s In Your Mind, Seriously

You have control over exactly what you decide to do and not to do. Sometimes things just happen though: baby needs to be fed, burped, changed, you need to keep up with daily chores, help out around the house, etc.

This is just some of the things that have to be done. So how do you go about keeping up with a blog while taking care of all this?

You have to create the time and the way… It isn’t just there because if you keep thinking that, it will always just be there and you’ll never actually get anything DONE.

Schedule

For the longest time I didn’t think that having a regular schedule was what I wanted and still isn’t exactly what I’d like but it’s crucial to have one. Seriously. If you want to be a blogger and deal with life then you need a schedule.

The reason I didn’t want one to begin with was because I thought it was going to be like a 9 to 5 thing and I don’t like that one bit. It’s not though… It’s what you have to make it actually.

Some mornings I’ll get up at 6 am and get around by 7. I’ll start working on what I feel is the most important tasks for my blog from 7 am until around 9. Baby usually wakes up about this time and I feed her and do whatever needs done. I’ll get whatever last minute details I can get done done by 10 and then head out to look for a job until about 3.

I come back home (unless I’ve been looking online all day) and I do some finishing up on my blog until about 5 and then the day is over. Spending time with the family is what it’s all about from here and is what I do until 8 or 8:30 when my daughter goes to bed.

Then I might read until about 9 or 10 and get some sleep and it all starts over again the next day.

This is just some of my schedule though… Not what I follow each and every day.

Why This Is Important

If you really want to make something of your blog then you need to absolutely get into a routine and have a set plan that you’re literally taking action on each day. Without making the time and sticking to it and actually getting something done, it’s never going to happen and it’s just going to be a nice dream you’re always “working” towards without actually getting the results you very well could be some day.

So… How do you manage your blogging and daily life?

This is an obvious title and also a very important one. I’m currently listening to Darren Rowse interview Holly Becker from Decor8Blog.com and it’s really inspirational for many reasons.

What I like about online podcasts and interviews is I can learn so much from people just by listening while writing a blog post or browsing the web or something like that. It really makes it great.

Listen

Listening to your readers of your blog and to other people is important. What’s even more important is listening to the right people. The best way to discover who those people are is to actually see their results and discover how they got there and see if that’s something you’re willing to do.

Blogging is fun and making money I’m sure is even more fun and on top of that, helping other learn how to make money by what you know is even greater fun. Why? You’re helping people get something they want. We all know it doesn’t work for everyone but trying idea 1 out of 5 is better than just wondering and never trying at all.

Time

Everything takes some amount of time and listening and learning is no different. The best thing we can do in life is to learn from others who’ve been there and then decide if that’s something we’re interested in doing. As with this blog, I enjoy writing for you and hope you’re getting something out of this. If not, I would like to know exactly what I can do to help you, my readers out with things.

It takes time also because I’m not just going to jump on your blog and you’re not just going to jump on here and automatically want to trust and believe in me. You would probably look through my past posts (you’ve gotta build something over time) and you may even want to contact me and work something out (again, time) for something to happen.

Notes

Just the other day I finally sat down and wrote down some things I felt were important to me enough to take action on. So, I wrote down Eric’s Daily Task List and have been following that as much as possible. I’ve made notes before but didn’t follow them closely and this time I just got serious and realized that something just had to change.

So take notes and keep them close to your heart and learn to keep taking notes because you’re not going to remember everything so if you write things down you’re much better off to go back and look at ideas you’ve had. Very important.

Question

I have a question more than just what does everyone think this time. What does everyone honestly think of BluePop13.com? I am not sure if I’m going to monetize this site but I do plan on doing something more like that with Goals4Individuals.com. What ideas do you have that you think might benefit this site and what more do you want from me?

I’m not an expert at blogging and I’m not an expert at making money at blogging. I don’t think anyone actually can be considered an expert at any point because there is always someone doing it better or even doing it worse. We learn from one another and from ourselves and therefore we basically all create our own success.

This being said, from the information I’ve gathered by watching videos, reading blogs around the world and watching this video, I’ve thought up two basic ways you’re probably not making money from your blog and the way to change that is to quit doing them in my opinion.

1. Take Time To Build The Relationship

Everyone wants more money and the faster the better. I also want money and more importantly do I want to have more fun in my life and do things that make me happy. I want more free time with my family as does everyone else around. I also want to help people and give all that I can.

I feel a blog can help with this tremendously because it’s a long haul process that can do wonders for personal pleasure or business.

You can easily email your friends and family and co-workers and tweet articles you find interesting and get on Facebook and the like but when it comes to really giving people something good, bring them back to your blog and that’s where a great new relationship can truly come together at.

Blog consistently and put some effort into your words and bring passion to the table. Do that as well as keep at it. Literally put some hours into your blog and treat it as a business and keep going, improve as you go, learn from others, communicate, get to know people, build your list, and never try and sell people on an idea or on a product you “believe in” just to make some quick cash. Do that and you’ll loose people right away.

Really focus on being there and helping people through your blog. Allow guest posts on your blog and share with other bloggers as well.

Bottom line is, build up a good relationship by using your blog to really connect with your readers and in the end things will come together nicely. Your readers are what will be paying your bills because some of them will become customers so treat them right and give them what they want. Don’t just give them crap. Give them quality even beyond a relationship.

2. Take Charge of Your Audience: Blog About What You Know (Become A Leader)

If you just blog about something you read on another blog because you thought it was a cool idea, that’s great. But don’t do that all the time. Make your blog have a purpose and make it about what you really care and know something about. If you know a lot about music and instruments, build a blogging business around that.

Don’t just go around telling people how to make money by blogging about making music though if you yourself have no clue how to do it.

Also, keep your readers informed of your decisions. If you just start placing banner adds or marketing products on your site and don’t involve your audience, things will probably not go so smoothly. I am currently not making money yet with this blog though I do intend to do just that.

How? By giving my loyal audience of great people who come to see what I’ve been up to and read my words great quality every time. Period. What products and services am I going to give them? I’m not sure at this point. It’s been on my mind for quite some time and even though life is all about taking action and just going for it, I have to make sure I’m not just giving them complete crap with my actions I might take.

That being said, I’m still focusing myself on making sure I’m writing about topics I know something about or am truly inspired by and am providing quality, building up relationships and allowing them to help me make money when the time comes.

I recommend every blogger who is serious about making money online or at least helping someone else start an online business do the same.

What do you do about these two ideas? Do you do them or not and how well do they work out for you?

I was just over at Hot Blog Tips watching the video Keith posted about having a plan. It made me think about some things that for some reason so many people are doing and yet I wonder if they’re actually making money or just talking the talk. It’s a rather hott issue but I just wanted to see what you all think.

1. Follow The Right Crowd

I have this trouble quite a lot myself and it can even be a scary thought when you know the right people are giving you advice because it’s advice you really should take. But that’s just it. How do you know it’s advice you should be taking?

A lot of bloggers say to blog about what you’re passionate about and the money will follow. However, there does have to actually be some competition for you to make money because what you’re blogging about has to be profitable, right? Yes. So, follow the crowd that says you should blog about what you know and not just about what you’re reading others blog about.

Same in life, do what you know and don’t just follow a crowd who does something and you’re seeing them achieve success at.

2. Do Your Own Thing

You ultimately have to just do something and it comes down to doing it on your own. You can definitely have help from others but you still have to just go after it and do it and make something out of yourself. If you want it just go after it and keep going until you get it. Blogging? We’re all blogging because we’re writing articles like this and talking about whatever we’re talking about. Does it make some people upset? Sure. Does it make other people happy? Sure does. But we’re doing it and even though not everyone is making money we’re still going for it and just doing it. So do that.

What do you do and what crowd do you follow?

I was thinking today about getting to know myself. I thought about what I like to do for fun and what I enjoy about life. I also thought a lot about how far I’ve come in life and who I used to be compared to who I am now and some interesting things came to mind that I wanted to share and luckily remembered as I’m writing this now.

Clean

I like being clean. More than just a shower. I’m talking about rinsing out soda pop cans when I’m done drinking them and putting them somewhere so they’re not just sitting around still. I also am obsessed with rinsing all the soap out of my hair when I take a shower. I don’t know why I just am. I am truly enjoying living in this new apartment because there are no bugs or dishes lying around to attract more disgusting things from outside.

Bottom line, I really like being clean and quite frankly, looking back as a kid I always have.

Deep Within

I’m really hard on myself and yet I know I am capable of so much more than I do with each given day, really. I am probably worth more than any regular job I might get around town here. Heck, I’m also very smart and people know this although I don’t tend to always show my smarts and therefore fool so many people into thinking I’m not actually as bright as I truly am inside. I’m very intelligent yet I feel I shouldn’t let it be know all together just because it’s a weakness of sorts to let it be known through and through.

Love

I have a big heart and care very much for a lot of people. I actually wear my heart on my sleeve and do so because it’s just who I am. I love helping people and seeing them happy. I love being there and I truly enjoy doing things for other people unless they’ve severely hurt me in some way that is unforgivable. Why shouldn’t I love helping people and being around people? We’re all here for one another and to help serve each other using our talents and gifts God has given us all.

The Point Here?

Since this is actually a question I will answer it simply by saying that the only point to this post is whatever you got out of it. I think, no I feel it’s important to show who you really are and be up front and honest with people and show just how much you care. I want to write to this blog because it makes me happy. This is a hobby for me that I love to do each and every day. I want to become a full time blogger and earn a full time living with it and I know if I never give up that I will find a way and will achieve that dream.

How exactly? I haven’t a clue but I know I can.

Also… I want to entertain people who come here and educate them and help them and show them I’m and I am here for them. I’m here for you… All of you.

This blog is my home online and is nothing, absolutely nothing without you readers who visit and comment and share your experience, knowledge, desires, passions, interests, and so much more.
