Two weeks ago I thought I’d put up a fun post just asking everyone to ask me any two questions they’d like in order to get to know me better. The response was pretty awesome and I had a lot of fun putting together the video for all of this.

I hope the video turns out well… It took a while to set up as I made some mistakes with it at first.

What social media site or website is your best referring source of traffic?

My best source of traffic is direct as well as a few blogs such as andbreak.com and some other I’ve not heard of until recently. Ultimately however, where I commend at and where I guest post are also great traffic grabbers.

What’s your typical blogging schedule look like?

My blogging schedule actually isn’t steady but I work hard each day to put in the hours necessary to get what needs to be done. With my 3 month old little girl it can be trying at times but I love her enough to be there for her 100% as well as put the hours into my blog here.

I’m most creative in the morning and jot ideas down so that I can get things done throughout the day if she’s sleeping or something like that. I normally get up around 8 to 10 and she’s already up so pen and paper are my “best friends” lol.

Honestly, heartbreak.

I’ve already been a kind of person who wanted something different out of life than the regular 9 to 5 crap. It may be for some but just isn’t for me. I love my freedom too much and because my girlfriend and I were in fights and I ended up getting my heart broken, I turned to finding something of a hobby to get myself into and my mind off of how I was feeling. I found Yaro Starak’s blog and on from there discovered so many more great blogs and only continued to get deeper into this thing called blogging.

What are your methods of marketing for your blog?

Mainly Twitter, Facebook, commenting, guest posting, my mailing list, youtube and so fourth. I actually just recently got my mailing list up and am glad I did. Mine’s not like most out there however and there’s some goodies inside if you sign up.

I really just work hard at being me and getting myself out there to show what I’m all about and give all that I can. I also fully believe in over delivering whenever possible.

I’m in the blogging niche or as you could put it, the helping other bloggers and people improve their blog using simple techniques. I know it’s a huge market and I’m not making money yet but it’s fun and I truly enjoy connecting with people and helping people solve problems.

What plugins you used in this blog?

Honestly, a lot. I’m not going to list all of them here but if you look at my site you will see some of the obvious plugins. For the COMPLETE list just watch the video. I actually read off every single plugin currently installed and activated on my blog.

Why do you use MailChimp and what are the benefits?

I really can’t compare anything to Aweber but I will say that MailChimp is awesome because it has all the main features I think you would need to create a good mailing list and it’s free. I go into more detail in the video and also would love to hear anyone’s opinion on either Aweber OR MailChimp.

I do and it’s rather high but with this blog somewhere around $1,000 to $5,000 a month roughly some how. Over all, can’t say and it will have to be done with niche sites and more blogs. More detail in the video as always.

Who are some bloggers that you’d like to do a joint venture with?

I haven’t found anyone specific but I would like to find like-minded people who have the same goals I have and are ready to go into the same projects as I am and who I can really connect with on a more personal level than just my blog.

I mostly find ideas from just about anywhere. A lot of times from other blogger’s comments and blogs in general. Also from my daughter and the world around me. I pretty much have ideas come to me and I know I’d better write them down for later so that I stay ahead of the game.

Which stats do you pay the most attention to? (Alexa, Google, etc)

I don’t pay much attention to stats for the most part but I am more now and I use Google Analytics. I use that because I like it and I think it works well for the most part. I do look at both just not all the time.

Not sure actually. That’s my short answer. Actually I see myself having some assets and family taken care of and being out of debt. I also see myself setting some more personal goals and getting passed some fears I have such as driving in new and unfamiliar areas.

Lastly, careers wise, I see myself running multiple blogs and niche websites and making a great living online.

What pets do you have in your household?

I currently have NO pets in my household however my favorite animals are dogs. I love cats AND dogs but my favorite are dogs.

Do you have any major time and resource drains like a day job?

I DO have a daughter which makes it very difficult at times to get things done as I’m right now getting all of this finished and currently getting the video formatted and all and it’s 12:22 AM Friday (the day it’s going up). It’s late for me believe it or not but I’m doing this because I gave my word and this blog and the community is important to me.

My girlfriend is working full time and I’m a stay-at-home dad and “full-time” blogger working my ass off to build this blog up to make sure it makes great value to people and eventually brings in money.

What is your favorite resource for tips on how to make your blog look good.

I honestly don’t have many tips for you on this one but I will recommend a few ideas here. One being that I would talk to TravisAMorgan about a logo/design and such as he did The InfoPreneurs logo. I also recommend Heather from ShadesOfADream.com/blog as she knows 3D art very well.

Other than that I just recommend playing around with Thesis as it’s a killer blog theme and has a lot of powerful potential in my opinion.

I’ll get you a link to a service I used a while back and was pretty happy with. They set up the entire blog for just a dollar and I really like what they had to offer. As the video says, even now, I’m trying my best to get all things set up here and get this post up on time for later today so I’ll get you the link sometime around this weekend.

I don’t necessarily have three favorite authors but if you read Wednesday’s post you will know who my all-time favorite author is. Larry Winget. I also really enjoyed Gary’s Crush It even though I don’t have a copy of my own.

I read quite a bit but a lot of what I read is blogs and I really do need to read more books.

You have a time machine that can take you anywhere and any when. What are your first three destinations?

1st. Back to when I was 13 years of age because my grandmother was still alive and I miss her greatly. We had a fantastic relationship and she was the best person I ever knew. She was also a huge inspiration in my life.

2nd. When I turn 25 years of age I’d like to see my buddy Pal who lives in the Netherlands. We’ve been great friends now JUST online for about 11 years and I’ve never met him. We talk all the time and I’ve also never been out of the USA so I think It’d be great fun to venture out and meet him and see what his world is like.

3rd. I would absolutely love to see what the year 3000 brings. See what the world has become and how technology has progressed. Who wouldn’t? And I highly doubt I’m going to live long enough to see that year so that would definitely be a place I’d go.

Is it strange to think about math and blogging? Maybe so. But the two actually work together more than you may think.

I personally have to use math every day for my blog to make sure of a few things including:

1. How many posts to write in advance
2. How many blogs I commented on and will check today for a reply
3. How many comments I have on my blog and retweets I’ve gotten
4. … And the newest reason is to make sure I have enough blogs chosen per week to cover the top 30 monthly experience.

Sound like a lot of work? You bet it is, believe it or not. Fun. Most of the time. Necessary? Without a doubt.

So why is math a big deal in blogging? It’s not. But it does exist and helps you out more than you know.

What are some ways you use math in your blogging life and do you have any advice or ideas to add to my list?

You can surely read hundreds (literally) of blog posts a day and get a lot of great information. You can also keep up with what’s going on in social media such as Twitter and Facebook. Doing all this will help you but it won’t help you if you’ve been doing it and are seeing the same results you’ve seen for months now and want something more.

So how do you get something more? How do you finally get what you want?

My suggestion is to simply blog better by doing just two simple yet effective things that will bring you better results instantly. Try this, really!

Before I bring you two great tips for blogging better though I do want you to realize that it may take time once you’re doing the right thing. The amount of time it takes just depends on how willing you are to do this consistently because your results will improve, I promise.

1. Plan.
2. Do.

It really is this simple. If you can find a simpler way then please let me know. Let’s look at these more closely so we understand each other a bit better.

Plan: You have to know specifics here.

Want more comments? OK. Try this.

If you want 50 comments on your blog each time you post up new content then I would suggest that you comment on at least (if not more) 50 blogs that have to do with anything your niche. I also highly suggest doing a lot of guest posts.

Want more people on your mailing list? Well, here’s my thoughts.

Give people a reason to want to be on your list. I can talk about this (now) because I have my own mailing list and offer everyone who signs up for it my free Killer Content Guide. What’s different about my guide? Not much. I just offer a nice bonus video at the end as a thank you for subscribing and reading the guide.

Want more people to share your content? This is easy.

Ask. I’m not going sit here and tell you that I have a lot of people sharing and spreading my content because I don’t. I’m not saying that’s bad or good either. It’s honestly up to what YOU want from your blog. There are many blogs out there that have hundreds of tweets on their content (much more than I get, easy) but if I ask people to then I’m sure I’ll get more people to spread my content.

Let me prove it to you. Seriously.

I honestly want this post to reach many people because it has a simple message to it with great quality information (I think). If you feel the same please do me the favor of helping me spread this post around the blogosphere via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Digg, StumbleUpon or whatever else is out there if you’d like.

I truly will appreciate it.

Do you want more people to guest post on your blog? Easy again.

Build relationships with people and then ask them to guest post. I’m sure you will find people who will want to. If not, you really need to get out there and make yourself known a bit more and build up those relationships.

Now lets look at the other simple yet very effective of the formula here.

Do: You have to take action on the plan you’ve created.

I’ll make this extremely simple for you. Once you know the specifics of what you want for your blog (as mentioned above in some cases) just do something different than what you’ve done.

Better yet, find out what has worked for others. You should have your plan already created and written down as to what you’re wanting. Now just try that. Take notes so you don’t forget what you’ve read and learned and go do that. See what happens. If you get what you’re after keep doing that. If you want to find a better way, keep researching and keep doing and eventually (probably sooner than later if you’re always taking action) you will see the results you’re after.

So last week was a lot of fun for me. On Monday I was able to be a contenstant on the Game Show of Bloggywood Squares and didn’t win but as a runner up I got the Beyond Blogging ebook and am going to be reading that and doing a review if I find it any good; I bet I will.

What I really enjoyed about the game show was the fact that it was a very fun experience with a lot of potential to connect with real people and learn some things and share information. Blogs do this but a live game show has a lot more power and this certainly demonstrated that.

The Green Room

What I really enjoyed was being able to truly interact with everyone in the green room after each show. You could ask any question you wanted and really connect with people in real time and completely get involved. That was a huge opportunity for any blogger serious about getting grand info from some great top bloggers out there.

If you missed out, you really did miss out on something amazing here.

My Favorite

What I liked most about the green room though was the fact that it wasn’t just about blogging. Yes I completely enjoy a good long talk about blogging but that’s a small niche in this big world. There’s A LOT more out there to talk about and everyone in the chat got real about it. They just had a good time and brought up different topics and really let loose.

It doesn’t get any better than that, in my opinion.

This isn’t a long post but I really wanted to say that I truly enjoyed the experience here and hope they do this again soon.

I wrote months ago about myself achieving success getting my car out of the snow. That was a lot of work and I was damned if I was going to give up. Well, I got it out, thank God!

I was reminded of this success story I wrote and shared with everyone and I feel it was the best blog post I’ve ever written, ever. I bring this up because I personally don’t think I’ve read a greater blog post about success than experience everlasting success.

I read it and it’s fantastic beyond words in my opinion.

Why do I share this with you today?

Recently

For a week or so now I’ve been extremely busy but not in the way you’re probably imagining. I’ve been taking on little things and putting off other things and now I see things a bit differently than before.

I recently started my mailing list after writing up my Killer Content Guide and just started sending out emails and messages to people about writing for this blog whenever they want to on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far, you can read quite a few Pop Posts I’ve put up and the first one I asked about that I got a response back from was why consider persons with disabilities when making your blog by Tom from Even Grounds.com.

Great article if I do say so myself.

I also got Henri’s book passionate living (affiliate link) and took action by putting it on my blog to support his work which I fully believe in. If you’re new to his writing and you like what you’ve read here at all I feel you’ll love his blog.

Back To Business

I’ve felt lazy for last several weeks and as I said above I’ve been busy but not in the ways you would think. I DID get my first two big projects started which I’m going to be selling on here once completed. I’ll be releasing the first one (no name yet, sorry) in a few months after completion and if you’re on my mailing list you’ll be one of the first people to know about it being released.

After reading Keith’s back to the basics post it really got me thinking about coming up with some ideas for this blog and making it even more helpful to everyone.

I have so much more coming your way that I’m sure a lot of people will truly benefit from. If they don’t it’ll surprise me.

What success are you looking at for the future and what are you doing about getting there?

I did an article here called three reasons to never start blogging and it got a good response. I targeted some great issues with why people just shouldn’t start a blog and that really struck people.

Now I want to talk about why you absolutely should be blogging and how having a blog can definitely help you and your business go to the next level and beyond.

1. You’re Crazy Passionate About A Topic
2. You absolutely love to write and/or do videos and you want to share your interest with people
3. Blogging is just freakin’ cool and fun!

Now that I’ve listed these ideas let’s look at these just a bit closer.

1. You’re crazy passionate about a topic – You love to talk about something you enjoy to everyone you know and all the time. I personally can take the fall for this one. I love blogging and love to talk about blogging all the time. When someone hears me say “blog” they often wonder if they should dare ask and usually if someone who knows me is around, they simply say, “I wouldn’t go there if I were you.” I love to blog and talk about it and I love meeting new people. I also like doing videos so I’ve been doing more of those.

I also really enjoy helping people out with whatever problems they’re facing and coming to a solution with them. It’s all about helping others out.

1. You absolutely love writing and doing videos – I truly enjoy writing for the most part and have had a lot of fun doing videos recently. It’s good to love to write and even better if you add videos because you’re targeting a larger audience and more often than not people will see that and help you spread the word.
2. Blogging is just freakin’ cool and fun! – If you’re not having fun as a blogger then there’s really no point. So many people want to become a full-time blogger so that they have more time with their families and such and that’s great, but if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing to make money then there was no point leaving a career/job you didn’t like either.
   Have fun with it. Enjoy meeting new people. Love to write blog posts and come up with new crazy cool ideas that inspire other people and make a difference in the lives of others. Blogging is all about connecting with people on different levels and helping each other out so do that and have fun while doing it.

These aren’t the only reasons to blog and I’ll probably add more in the future but it’s a start.

Let’s talk about the questions which bloggers have regarding this issue, as well as the specific reasons why we should consider this group while creating our blogs.

They Won’t Read my Blog, Will They?

You may think that no one in the disabled community would visit and read your blog. One possible reason for this is that you have a relatively narrow niche. But similar to non-disabled persons, people with disabilities have an incredibly diverse set of interests. You can be sure that there will always be someone in the disabled community who would be interested to reed your posts.

But Can They Actually Read It?

There are now a lot of technologies that enable persons with disabilities to access the Internet.

People who are blind obviously cannot read web pages by themselves. But they can use a software called a screen reader to read for them the text in your blog. Persons who are deaf can’t hear what you are saying in your video post. However, captioning services such as the one in YouTube can help them understand the audio in your video. Also, those who can’t use their hands can use voice recognition software to navigate through your blog’s content.

But although these products exist, people with disabilities still need your help in ensuring that these technologies can access your particular web site.

What’s In It For Me?

Your blog would be open to new improvements and opportunities when you create it with the disabled community in mind.

Web accessibility consists of a set of steps to make your blog accessible to persons with disabilities. When you practice web accessibility, you would make it easy for the disabled community to access all the parts of your blog. And by doing so, you would also make it much easier for your non-disabled readers to navigate through your content.

And we all know that these things lead to more visitors reading your content and getting your message, and more lives you can improve and change. This is, after all, the goal which all of us are aiming for.

Last Wednesday I put up a blog post called changes are coming, pop post anyone? This week I haven’t got those pop posts up as I’m still getting it all organized and ready to go. Next week I should have some so we’ll see how that comes along.

I received a comment by Darren L Carter on that post saying that he liked how I call my guest posts pop posts because it gives it style in my case and I appreciate when people see that. I visited his site since he was nice enough to visit mine and leave a comment and I watched the video on his site.

In his video he talks about your dreams and having an idea of what kind of life you want to live and how you’re going to get there. I like that because everyone should have huge dreams but should also know how they’re going to achieve those dreams. If you don’t, get some.

There’s no time like the present and honestly I love that people follow their dreams and build up great sites all around that idea. I also like how he talks about the fact that he’s living a pretty awesome life style right now himself.

I currently am blogging mostly full time right now but not earning an income from it yet. That’s my dream. Provide great value to people and be able to live off the income I’ll make with my blog so that I can support my family and have the freedom to do more of what I desire in my life and each out to more people.

All that being said, what’s your deams and what’s your plans on achieving those dreams?

Blog posts are what most people come back to your blog to read and get information from. However, blog posts aren’t only what you need to focus on. If this is your business or if you’re working to turn your blog into a business then you absolutely need to do a few more things to just get started including:

1. Research
2. Comments
3. Communicate
4. Design
5. Updating
6. Planning
7. Improving

These are just some of the main ideas you need to have and be doing.

Blog posts are great but they’re not all your blog is worth, or are they?

Are you doing more than JUST writing articles and if so, what?

If you want to make your blog into something big then you need to think big. You have to make sure you’re taking your blogging seriously and kep at it. Post articles, communicate with other bloggers, visit their blogs and leave incredible comments, do vidoes, get involved on Twitter, Facebook and more. Make sure you’re out there doing what you can to show that you’re someone who has something to offer.

Serious blogging also requires a lot of time. You have got to put months into this… It’s not just going to happen over night. That’s the exact reason you need to put so much into this up front and consistently improve is because over time, people will see that you’re still out there busting ass and letting your voice be heard. That alone will have people’s attention.
