I’ll first mention that I got this idea from Gabe’s latest post (as of this writing) and number 20 gave me a great idea for this post.
I want to know what your top 10 favorite blogs to visit are. This can be anything, seriously. Doesn’t have to be about Social Media, Blogging, Computer, Technology. It can be about fishing, biking, religion, anything. I hope you get the point. If you like it, share it. I’ll just leave it at that.
At the end of each month I’m going to be sharing my top 10 favorite blogs I visit most on a daily basis and the reason why. What have those blogs done for you? How have they added value to your life? This isn’t hard in fact this is a pretty fun experience as everyone will get to be a star here.
Send by the 25th of each month what your top 10 favorite blogs are and why you chose each one of those. I’ll post who you are as well as your blog and your top 10 favorite blogs and the reasons why you like them. This way, we will have one very long article of people (hopefully) who all share different blogs they enjoy reading.
Why You Should Participate
Your blog gets noticed more. The blogs you mention get noticed more. Everyone shares what they think of what blogs each person liked and why.
This could be huge so if you want in just send me your list by the 25th of each month.
See, as Gabe said, you can ALWAYS find something to talk about.
So… What do you think? Are you in?

This could be interesting, lets see now…
In no particular order:
TheInfopreneur (www.theinfopreneur.net): Where to start… This guy is the main reason my blog’s already up and running before the rest of my site. I go by every day, sometimes several times a day to comment, and he’s been a huge inspiration for me.
WorkAwesome (http://workawesome.com/): Makes me think with every new post, full of common sense and practical ways to rock, at work.
Zen Habits (http://zenhabits.net/): Leo talks about a whole host of things to simplify and therefore improve your life. Always look forward to them appearing in my reader.
CGTuts+ (http://cg.tutsplus.com/): My favourite 3D tutorial feed, so many amazing and creative things there it’s unreal.
Seth’s Blog (http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/): What can I say? He’s Seth.
Smart Passive Income (http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/): Pat’s approach is really down to earth, and shows that he honestly cares about his family and non-blogging life while still knowing what he’s talking about.
FreelanceSwitch (http://freelanceswitch.com/): Favourite Freelancing blog, full of ultra useful tips that are important, but maybe not covered as well elsewhere.
6Aliens (http://www.6aliens.com/): Fairly new addition, but it’s quickly become one of my favourite feeds; lots of good advice and interesting things to think about.
Meaningful Existence (http://www.ameaningfulexistence.com/): Just For Today Challenge. Really useful, and she’s a lovely person; I enjoy commenting there.
Blogussion (http://www.blogussion.com/): Like most of the others; inspirational and useful, the attitude of the writers often makes me smile too.
Those are PROBABLY my top ten, but I have well over 60 that I wouldn’t get rid of unless I somehow lost my feedreader (most of which I’d be able to find again), and another 50 that I’m evaluating at the moment. But anywho, I’ll end my obscenely long comment here

Yes, I’m in! Here’s my list of my top 10 blogs:
1) http://www.StevePavlina.com –a personal development blog which encourages me to get out of my comfort zone all the time, in order to grow and change for the better. He inspires me more than anyone else. And he has the best forum community out there for personal development. I’ve made some good connections and friends there!
2) http://www.Problogger.net –the most excellent advice and training ground for newbie bloggers like me, with Darren Rowse’s down-to-earth and sometimes humorous personality thrown in. I have learned so much from him in such a short time! And I love his Aussie accent that you can hear in his videos!
3) http://www.dailyblogtips.com –Lots of great little tips and tricks for bloggers to try out…plus, I credit Daniel Scocco (blog owner) with alerting me to internet marketing genius Eben Pagan’s Ignition Program, which is changing my life!
4) http://www.davidrisley.com –a 6-figure blogger who really helps put together internet marketing with blogging and is very approachable for those who want to become successful with his help. He’ll be the one I rely on most this year to bring my blogging to the next level!
5) http://www.zenhabits.net –a wonderful personal development blog by Leo Babauta which helps me learn to do less and more efficiently with great articles that make me really think about things in life that really count the most.
6) http://www.lifeoptimizer.org –a personal development blog by Donald Latumahina which gives me the most motivation and inspiration when I need it. Easy, clear reading, and good resources lists.
7) http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com –Yaro Starak’s blog about becoming an online entrepreneur, filled with his experiences and insights, and HIGHLY educational. He offers online courses, and now private coaching for a select few who are dead serious about becoming really successful online. Very thought-provoking posts which call me to action every time. And his sometimes “crazy” hair just adds to his appeal!
9) http://www.viperchill.com –This blog centers around viral marketing online and shows you nice little “secrets” to getting your business or blog circulated out there on the web. When I’m ready to really market my blog, I’m listening to HIM! The owner, Glen, is just 20 and makes his living online while traveling the world, already making 5 figures, and has attracted attention from the likes of companies like Nissan, Land Rover, and Hewlett-Packard. Keep your eye on this one–he’s gonna do great things!
10) PostSecret.blogspot.com –a picture-blog where people send in their darkest secrets on postcards anonymously for the world to see. The value is gives me is to see some of the problems people face that I wasn’t even aware of. I may get some ideas for articles to write in the future on another one of my blogs about relationships and personal development because of this blog. It’s interesting, entertaining, and thought-provoking…

If you don’t send me a different list (by comment or email) by the 25th of next month I will use what you have here on the blog post I put up. Make sure to send in your newest 10 favorite each month. They don’t have to be the same each time but that’s entirely up to you… After all, it’s YOUR top 10 favorite blogs!

Hi Eric,
Thanks for stopping by this morning! I just read your post, and I am going to go away and think about this one.
I stay so busy, that I skim, not really reading anyones blog, especially when I started out. Can you imagine? Skimming Darren Rowse! What I find interesting is that after doing this for months, the first Blog that I really started to read was David Risley’s. Even then just selected articles.
The first Blog that I consumed like Pizza was James Richmonds Blog. I read everything he has on his site. He’s the infopreneur.net mention in heather’s comment.

Hey Jefrey,
I would hope people do come up with good blogs and do put some thought into what they feel are their top ten favorites. This is supposed to be a fun experience and joyful idea for everyone who participates. My intention here is to help each other out by sharing what we feel we really understand from one another and help each other to the path of success. You’re doing a good thing by determining which blogs benefit you the most.
I spend too many hours of my day reading all sorts of blogs and commenting! lol. It takes a lot out of you just doing that but is well worth it when the comments come back. It’s all about sharing and community and building relationships.
Thanks for stopping by!

Here are some of my favorite blogs in no particular order:
1) Copyblogger: How to write an effective copy. Even if I’m not into selling and marketing, following this blog helps be write better blog posts.
2) Men With Pens: Writing tips for freelance writers. Again, I’m not a freelancer but the writing tips are worth it!
3) Problogger: Needs no introduction! I’ve been following it for five years, although I have only been blogging on and off during that time.
4) Waiter Rant: Steve was a waiter in NYC for many years and wrote a book about it. His blog is filled with good writing and interesting stories.
5) Dave Cheong | Engineer to Entrepreneur: Dave Cheong has been quite busy this year, but each one of his posts is a little gem.
6) Steve Pavlina: Steve’s views on personal development are sometimes unconventional yet very inspiring.
7) Dragos Roua: Dragos’ personal development blog is now famous for its huge list posts
9) Write In My Journal: David meets strangers in the street and asks them to write a little something in his journal.
10) Tynan | Life Outside the Box: Tynan wants to make his life as interesting as possible, and succeeds beyond expectations.
Hope that helps!

Boy, this really shares a little into the mind of the blog reader, too. I’m seeing some new sites, some I visit occasionally, and some I frequent with regularity.
My ten [as they pop into my head]:
1. http://www.extremejohn.com
2. heatherkephart.com
3. http://www.iamamoneymagnet.com
4. http://www.sheddingit.com
5. rosedesrochers.todays-woman.net
6. wassupblog.com
7. jahangiri.us/news
8. iheartcvs.com & others of similar content by Erica
9. lifestyledesignforyou.com – new one on my list
10 website-in-a-weekend.net
Honestly, that was pretty tough. I read so many blogs, but not many on a ‘must read’ basis. But, if I could only read 10, right now these would be it.

Finance – Get Rich Slowly and The Simple Dollar
Marketing – Seth Godin’s Blog, Men with Pens
Blogging – Copyblogger, Problogger, ViperChill, Blogussion, Infopreneur
Lifestyle – Escape from Cubicle Nation and The Art of Nonconformity
Personal Development – Dragos Roua, Change Your Life|Change Your Thoughts
Oops, I guess I gave 12, it’s very hard to choose as there are so many wonderful sites out there
There are a ton of other blogs in my RSS, but these ones I can always count on to provide me with useful and interesting information.

I’ve been visiting the following two blogs on a daily basis:
David Risley: http://www.davidrisley.com
and
http://www.problogger.net
While I’m not necessarily trying to make money with my blog, my company is… They always have something new to show you to help your blog.
Just recently I started visiting The Infopreneur http://www.theinfopreneur.net. He is one of my recent discoveries. What I like about him is that I can count on the frequency of his posts.
Another favorite is Straight from the Heart, our priest’s, Father Chuck’s blog:
http://www.fatherchuck.com
He just makes you think, and he will always have a surprise to read about, he leaves long lasting impressions. And it is even more meaningful that I know him personally.
Now, I don’t have 10 blogs I regularly visit. The rest of the blogs are more related to my profession, and instead of going back to the blogs every day, I compiled a list of people on twitter. Over the months they have assured me that I will hear about anything that’s important or worth reading in the industry.
